Greenpeace China is a non-governmental organization advocating on China's sustainable development. We expose global environmental problems and force positive changes through research, lobbying and non-violent direct action. We are now calling on brave and inspiring individuals to join us.

Environmental campaigns are planned set of activities that campaigners carry out in order to achieve a particular goal and/or change in advancing environmental protection (details of these campaigns can be found in www.greenpeace.org.cn).





CAMPAIGN MANAGER - CLIMATE CHANGE AND RENEWABLE ENERGY (RE)



Purpose of Position:

To direct and oversee the planning, development and implementation of Greenpeace's RE campaign in China. The Campaign Manager will develop campaign policies and strategies in consultation with Greenpeace China's (GPC) Campaign Director.



Responsibilities:

· Direct and oversee the planning, development and implementation of RE campaign; Coordinate the development of objectives, strategies and program activities in order to achieve well integrated campaign work;

· Provide team leadership. Manage, motivate, and facilitate the work of the team members. Inspire and encourage team members to be innovative in all aspects of their work; Determine priorities, assigns responsibilities, and supervises staff. Identify staff training needs;

· Provide expert advice to GPC's Campaign Director on all RE campaign issues and plans;

· Act as a campaign spokesperson in dealings with other national offices, Greenpeace International and the media; Exchange information and maintains contact with other NGOs and government officials;

· Work with the Climate and Energy team to: organize public events (e.g. conferences, rallies, protests, demonstrations and actions), prepare written materials, communicate with government officials and industry representatives; Make presentations and responds to public speaking requests;

· Overall responsibility for the budget allocation within the RE campaign team and ensures that all expenditure is kept within the agreed budget; Ensure financial and administrative procedures are followed by the team;

· Undertake other duties as assigned by the Campaign Director.



Requirements:

· Bachelor degree or above;

· At least 3-year team management experience, especially media, advertisement, public relation or NGO experience;

· At least 5-year working experience in related field (energy, investment, media, environment, or NGO);

· Excellent leadership, managerial and team-building skills; Excellent judgment and initiative;

· Good expenses and budget control capability;

· Ability to work under pressure and challenge; Willingness to travel;

· Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.





CAMPAIGNER - CLIMATE CHANGE AND RENEWABLE ENERGY (RE)

CAMPAIGNER - TOXICS



Purpose of Position:

The Campaigner will take the lead in Greenpeace’s ongoing or emerging campaign works as designated by the Campaign Director. Through working in Greenpeace China and Greenpeace International Campaign TeamMoon, the Campaigner will be directly involved in the development and implementation of campaign strategies, proposals and policy. The Campaigner is also required to work with external coalition partners to further Greenpeace’s campaign goals when necessary.



Responsibilities:

· Work with campaign issue teams to identify the most urgent ecological abuse in RE or Toxics campaign area;

· Undertake appropriate legal and scientific research and consolidate information in pursuit of campaign objectives;

· Develop and implement effective campaign plans and strategies;

· Achieve campaign goals through non-violent direct action, public communication and engagement activities, media work, political and corporate work;

· Respond to challenges, explore new ideas and take initiatives in all aspects of campaign work;

· Maintain and establish relationship with key influential individuals, groups and coalition partners;

· Attend to conferences and respond to public inquiries on campaign issues and other matters;

· Undertake any other duties as delegated by the Campaign Director.



Requirements:

· Bachelor degree or above;

· At least 3 years working experience, specialized in media, advertisement, public relation. NGO experience preferred;

· Excellent organization and communication skills; good analytical and research ability; responsible and able to work independently;

· Ability to work under pressure; good team-work spirit; share and support the core value of Greenpeace;

· Willingness to travel;

· Excellent command of written and spoken English;

· Excellent computer skills and familiar with office software.





EVENTS OFFICER



Purpose of Position:

The Events Officer (EO) will be responsible for planning, organizing and providing logistics support to campaign activities. As a general member of the campaign department and line managed directly by the Campaign Director, the EO will be working closely with various campaign teams in developing campaign activities and coordinating their implementation for Greenpeace China in order to achieve well-integrated campaign work.



Responsibilities:

· Events & Activities

w Coordinate and ensure the smooth implementation of any form of events & activities against strategic targets in order to achieve the campaign objectives as defined by the campaign;

w Participate in the development of the campaign strategies and in particular to ensure that events & activities are included as a key tactic in the campaign strategies;

w Ensure the appropriateness of targets, campaign relevance, quality of research, planning, execution and evaluation of all GP events & activities;

w Participate in annual national campaign planning process;

w Participate in regular evaluation, review and development of campaign strategies;

w Help develop creative activities together with campaigners, taking in account the local culture and tradition.

· Team Membership

w Work and communicate openly, effectively and co-operatively with all other team members;

w Adhere to individual project deadlines and manage personal workload;

w Respond to challenges, explore new ideas and take initiative in all aspects of teamwork;

w Take full responsibilities for the completion of tasks as designated by the campaign director.

· Volunteers and Equipment

w Coordinate the volunteers’ involvement in events & activities;

w Selecting, recommending, purchasing and maintaining the necessary/basic equipment and to ensure that the storage facility/warehouse is in good condition.

· Administration and Finance

w Be responsible for relevant filing systems; maintain efficient records of new and special equipment/techniques;

w Take responsibility for aspects of the campaign budgets as delegated for a certain event activity by the campaign director.



Requirements:

· With bachelor degree or above;

· At least 3-year working experience, especially administration, logistic, public relation or NGO experience;

· Good organization and communication skills; good analyze and research skills; responsible and active working spirit;

· Can work under pressure and challenge; good team-work spirit; understand and support the idea of Greenpeace;

· Both good English and Chinese skills;

· Good computer skills; familiar with office software.





WEB EDITOR



Purpose of Position:

· Maintain the Greenpeace China website by developing, writing and producing contents, and compiling content publication schedules, in order to engage the public with Greenpeace’s activities, win Greenpeace campaigns and build up public support for the organization;

· Produce new media tools, including email lists and cyberactivist centre. In order to produce these tools, the Web Editor may have to liaise with outside companies, programmers, web designers and freelance personnel and manage the quality of production;

· Assist the New Media team in developing creative campaign strategies that utilize public engagement as a means of achieving campaign goals;

· Assist the web programming and content management for online fundraising projects.



Responsibilities:

· Advise on, and implement new media / outreach campaign / fundraising and marketing strategies for the web according to the overall campaign, fundraising and marketing strategy, budget, and legal guidelines in order to further the realisation of specific campaign objectives and further the recruitment and integration of cyberactivists, volunteers, and donors into Greenpeace’s campaign strategies via the web;

· Identify, design and develop innovative graphics, sound, and animations within the principles of the Web Style Guide and legal guidelines in order to produce dynamic visual content for the Greenpeace World Wide Web presence;

· Produce new media tools for campaigning, fundraising and public engagement purposes, including email lists and cyberactivist centre. Liaise with outside companies, programmers, web designers and freelance personnel and manage the quality of production;

· Monitor and coordinate responses to cyberactivists within the communication, fundraising and campaign strategies in order to develop and produce new material for the site and to engage with the users of the Greenpeace World Wide Web presence and to keep in touch with the audience to which Greenpeace is;

· Write and edit text within the principles of the Web Style Guide, legal guidelines and the Greenpeace mission statement. Oversee technical aspects of the Greenpeace websites. Ensure timeliness, quality, consistency and ease-of-use of sites;

· Manage and evaluate the work of outside vendors such as hosting firms, designers, writers and software developers;

· Work with the other members of the New Media team and Fundraising and Marketing Department to implement public engagement and online fundraising projects;

· Perform other duties as assigned by the New Media Development Coordinator.



Requirements:

· 2 years of HTML and web design and illustration programmes. Knowledge of Macromedia Flash and Digital Asset Management Systems is preferable;

· Knowledge of being an Internet or Intranet web master or content manager;

· Experience in creative writing and editing;

· Traditional journalism or web journalism experience is preferable;

· Knowledge and experience in IT support field is preferable;

· Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese. Fluency in Cantonese Chinese is preferable.
